With all the new Star Trek buzz going on now (I have seen it and loved it btw) you might get a kick when flying on Southwest soon. They don’t just have one, but three Captain Kirks that pilot their (almost) star ships.

Arrived at SeaTac airport, waiting for my AirTran flight to BWI. This is an airport I am very familiar with and have flown out of many times. I walked up to a very long security line and figured it would be a 20-30min process, but I am very impressed how organized and speedy they got through the line (only took about 5min).
With all the flatscreen TV’s, WiFi avail, and of course the classic people watching, I never seem to get too bored waiting for an airplane.
Some people have said the magic of flying is not what it used to be and maybe that is true, but every time I fly I try to respect the fact I am about to go into a metal cylinder, up to 40,000 feet, over 500mph, to travel 3000 miles in about 5hrs.
A Lufthansa Airlines flight from Munich to Lisbon encountered quite a big of turbulance and had to make an unscheduled landing in Geneva so 12 passengers and 2 crew members could be treated for their injuries.
Four people from the Airbus 320 were hospitalized, while the others were treated at the Geneva airport. A replacement aircraft took the remainder of the passengers to Lisbon.

People representing AirTran contacted me the other day asking if I would like to have them fly me over to Baltimore to go on a “special flight” where they will make public to the world what will be on every AirTran flight (I kinda hope it is more cowbell). This Monday I will fly out of Seattle, WA non-stop to Baltimore, of course on AirTran, to prepare for the big reveal early Tuesday morning.
I just hope they don’t send me over as they show in one of their commercials above!
