All Nippon Airways (ANA) announced a special livery that supports the recovery effort in Japan. Last week, one of their Boeing 767-300ERs (JA611A) showed off the special “Forward together as one, Japan” livery.
On May 2nd, ANA displayed a Boeing 777-300ER (JA786A) with the relief-related message at New York’s John F Kennedy Airport (JFK) for photographers and invited media.
“ANA wishes not only to support those who have been affected by the earthquake, but also move forward together with them to rebuild the region,” ANA spokes person told Airline Reporter. “For our global passengers, ANA would like to reassure our commitment to safety and top quality services through this message as well.”
As of March 13th, all ANA international flights have been operating on their normal schedule. Since April 13th, ANA has been back to flying to all the domestic airports it regularly serves as well as additional relief flights to Senai and Yamagata.
ANA is not sure how long the special livery will fly on the aircraft, but it will be at least through the month of May. NYCAviation has all 13 photos taken by Manny Gonzalez.

CAMAIR-CO Boeing 767-300ER (TJ-CAC)
Cameroon Airlines Corporation (CAMAIR-Co) is a brand new, yet old airline that just started service last month in Africa.
Camair Version 1.0 was founded in 1971 and was headquartered out of Douala, Cameroon. The airline was owned 96.43% by the Cameroon Government and 3.57% by Air France. The airline had difficulty and stopped service in 2008.
Camair Version 2.0 was founded in 2006 before version 1.0 officially went under, but never started operations. The first flight of the new Camair just occurred on March 28, 2011 from Douala to Paris. Camair currently has a fleet of one Boeing 767-300 ER (TJ-CAC) and one Boeing 737-700.
The new airline was created by a decree of the President and he hopes it becomes an inspiration to other airlines in Africa. The new airline has a much cleaner livery than the old Camair livery. Although I am a fan of the classic cheat-line look, the Euro-white body with colorful tail always looks good.

Air Greenland Airbus A330 (OY-GRN)
If I had to choose a color to represent the country of Greenland, red sure would not be it. If I had to choose a color to show up against the snow in Greenland, well… I might choose red. The airline Air Greenland has been around in 1960 and is a joint operation between the government of Greenland and the SAS group.
The have a unique fleet of aircraft: Airbus A330, Dash-7, Dash-8, Super King Air, S-61 and Bell 212. How awesome would it be to arrive in an Airbus A330 before swithing over to a Bell 212 — not too many airlines you can do that with.
The airline serves the vast land area and remote villages of Greenland as well as providing ambulance and other charter flights. In 2010 Air Greeland flew more than 427,000 passengers.

Today, United Airlines revealed their retro “Friend Ship” livery on an Airbus A320 (N475UA) at Chicaco’s O’Hare International Airport.
Hundreds of United employees showed up to celebrate not only the new retro livery, but also United’s 85th birthday.
United can trace its roots back to 1926 when they carried mail under the “Varney Air Service” name. Then the airline was purchased by William Boeing and merged with his other ventures as “United Aircraft and Transport Corporation.” In 1928, several airlines were combined as “United Air Lines.” Since then, the airline has successfully grown and had many different liveries.
Late last year, United employees were able to vote on which retro livery they wanted from five choices and the “Friend Ship” livery won.
The retro livery will be flown through out United’s North American route system.

Air Asia Airbus A320 with Junior Jet Club livery
Guest post by Yvette Scott:
I’d like to thank David for inviting me back to his blog; I think you will agree with me that David’s coverage of the Boeing 747-800 First Flight has been exceptional, so for someone who is 4850 miles away, the coverage has made me feel like I am there. Credit for finding this livery has to go to Phil (aka @PlansAirports, aka MR @AirlinesAngel), who spotted it during his tour of Indonesia.
This Air Asia A320 is themed for their Air Asia Junior Jet Club, which is aimed at their young frequent flyers and features members of the Jet Crew. Air Asia, to date, has carried over 82 million passengers, and the fleet has grown from 2 to 85 aircraft and I hear that the staff’s favourite aircraft is the Junior Jet Club plane, so if you are travelling around Asia you might be lucky to be onboard this colourful aircraft.
