1Time MD-83 with Zebra Livery.
1Time is a low cost airline based out of South Africa. They have a fleet of mostly MD-80 aircraft and fly domestically through Africa.
This MD-83 (ZS-SKB) was painted in zebra strips to celebrate the airline’s new route to Livingston, Zambia from Johannesburg. It seems the plane likes the paint job, look at her big smile!

Okay Airways Boeing 737-800 (B-5366) at Boeing Field before delivery.
When you aren’t looking for the best or the worst, check out Okay Airways. Ok, maybe not really, it has to do more with the translation than a statement on their quality of service. Okay Airways was founded in 2004 as China’s first private airline.
The airline had to suspend operations at the end of 2008, but started back up again in early 2009. They are growing their fleet of Boeing 737’s with a recent announcement of 10 additional 737-800’s have been ordered and expanding their regional fleet with new Xinzhou-60.
Thanks David B for this livery!

Flydubai Boeing 737-800 (A6-FDA) taken at Boeing Field in Seattle, WA before its delivery to the airline.
Flydubai is a relatively low cost carrier flying out of the Dubai International Airport. They have a feel of all Boeing 737-800 aircraft. They currently only have about ten aircraft, but have orders for over 50 more. The airline was founded in March 2008 by Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who is the chairman of Emirates Airlines. Flydubai is not affiliated with Emirates at this time.
With so many aircraft on order, there is an aggressive growth strategy to expand their presence in the middle east.
Thanks Laura B for suggesting this livery!

Impulse Airlines Boeing 717-200
Impulse Airlines was founded in 1992 and was a low-cost carrier that operated in Australia. It brought low-cost competition to long standing Qantas and Ansett airlines.
In 2001 Qantas wet leased all of Impulse’s services, gave the airline cash, and opened an option to later purchase the airline. A few months later, Qantas decided to purchase the airline and Impulse’s fleet of Boeing 717s and Beech 1900s were absorbed into QantasLink. Later the Beech 1900s were removed and the Boeing 717 fleet was expanded for QantasLink.
In 2004, all operations under the Impulse banner was ceased, however what remained was used as a springboard to start Qantas’ lowcost carrier, Jetstar.
The Parrot really gives the livery a mascot and is much more “fun” than their first more standard style livery.
Thanks Chris J!

Air Koryo Ilyushin Il-62M (P-881)
Air Koryo was founded in 1954 and is based out of the Sunan International Airport in North Korea. It is fully government owned. Since North Korea is not a lot of people’s friends around the world, they fleet is a bit aged. They have IL-62’s, Tu-154’s, Tu-204’s, Tu-134 and a few others. They are currently in the process of trying to modernize their fleet with additional Russian-built aircraft (and doing better than Aeroflot). Air Koryo’s TU-204 was the first one to be exported out of Russia.
Their livery looks just like you would expect a communist government-run livery to look. Drab with gray and of course red. Even though simplistic, I can’t help by love a Russian built aircraft with classic communist-looking livery on it.
Thanks Matthew D for this livery idea!
